Lewis Hamilton drops F1 retirement hint as he tips four rivals to battle for future titles

Seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he would like to retire before his 40th birthday. The Mercedes man is poised to enter into his 16th season on the grid next year. This year Hamilton is aiming to win a record-breaking eighth Drivers' Championship title this time around, but the 36-year-old faces a long battle with Red Bull's Max Verstappen for the honours. "I sincerely hope I'm not at 40," Hamilton told GP Fans when quizzed on how much longer he sees himself in F1. "There are so many things I want to do that it would be difficult. But in life, evolution is so rapid that it blows you away. For example, I didn't expect to be having as much fun as I'm having this season." Hamilton went on to run the rule over the next wave of drivers. "The new ones are great," added Hamilton. "Lando Norris, George Russell, Charles and Carlos above all. He has just arrived at Ferrari and he is driving very well, with Leclerc he forms a very strong duo. F1 is in good hands, I predict a bright future."
