Lennox Lewis weighs in with his prediction on what would happen if Fury fought Joshua

Deontay Wilder retained his WBC title on Saturday night after fighting to a draw with Tyson Fury. There is now expected to be a rematch between the pair, postponing the potential for Anthony Joshua to step into the ring with either the Bronze Bomber or the Gypsy King, representing the only disappointment in the two clashing once more. Speaking to BBC 5live Sportsweek, Lewis stated: “I think Joshua is a gladiator. Obviously, I wish he could have been in there and he probably wants to fight one of these guys after seeing them fight. He knows what they’ve got now so he’ll probably take that chance, talk to his manager and say ‘yeah I want to fight these guys.’” Pessimists believe Joshua would price Wilder and Fury out of a historic bout, but Lewis thinks Joshua has lost his strong bargaining position. “Yeah, I don’t think they can really do that right now because both boxers tonight proved themselves. Actually, he’s lost money! He has to give them more money now because of the fact that the public is demanding and want to see a good fight.” Lewis was then quizzed on who believes would win if Joshua came up against either Wilder or Fury. “I think Fury would win because of the aspect of his boxing. It’s difficult to hit a guy that can’t get hit. If you look at Deontay, Deontay didn’t catch up with him until the later rounds and the only reason he caught up with him was that in the later rounds you get tired, and he can’t move as swiftly as the earlier rounds.”
