Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy makes England national team admission

Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy has admitted that his decision on quitting England team has helped him become the Premier League’s finest striker again. The 32-year-old left England team after the World Cup 2018 so he can concentrate on his club form. Currently, Vardy is the leading scorer in the Premier League with 12 goals this season as the Foxes are holding the second place at the standings. He admitted he needed to rest and keep the legs fresh, as was quoted in Mirror: “I retired because I needed to rest up, I needed to keep the legs fresh,” said Vardy. “It has definitely paid off. It has helped massively. I had seven weeks off to prepare for the new season and the rigours it brings in pre-season, which is the worst part ever. That is one thing I can happily say I don't look forward to and I hate the gym. The most I have spent in the gym at Leicester is walking around saying: 'well done lads, get those weights lifted'.” The Foxes return to action on Sunday to face Everton at the King Power Stadium in the frames of Premier League.
