Latest Tottenham injury news ahead of Southampton clash

Tottenham travel to the South coast to take on a Southampton on the first day of 2020. So, ahead of the first Spurs match of the new year, here is how the injury list looks like for Jose Mourinho. Hugo Lloris is currently sidelined with an elbow injury and is not expected back until the new year. Tottenham captain sustained a dislocated elbow in the 3-0 defeat against Brighton landing awkwardly on his left arm and was in agony inside his own goal. He was given oxygen on the pitch, before being stretchered off and taken to hospital. Spurs have since revealed that the club captain has undergone surgery on his injured left elbow. Lloris is expected to return in the new year. Ben Davies remains out after picking up an ankle injury during the win over West Ham United last month. The club have since confirmed that the full-back is to "undergo an extensive period of rehabilitation" after the injury. In a further update, Davies had travelled to Qatar to continue his rehabilitation. Danny Rose missed the 2-2 draw with Norwich due to a muscular injury. It is yet unknown when the 29-year-old will return and Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he will not feature against Southampton. "I don't know. I would guess, but maybe I am wrong, a couple of weeks. But honestly I cannot tell you," he said when asked about a possible return date. Tottenham will be without Son Heung-min against Southampton due to suspension but Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko are available again after serving their one-game bans against Norwich. Juan Foyth, Jan Vertonghen and Giovani Lo Celso were all substituted at Carrow Road, but it is not reported there is any injury problems with the trio. Source- football.london
