Lampard demands Chelsea transfer business as boss bemoans lack of firepower

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard demanded fast signings after slamming his players. Lampard insists the Blues "lost ground last summer" - and the way they again finished a game nervously, this time in beating Hull City 2-1 at the KCOM, shows he must strengthen their squad. He said: "I have a strong feeling of where we can improve personnel-wise to take us forward. So for me it’s clear. The money of it is not my job but I have to be honest and truthful. Short-term recruitment is something we have to get right. We lost ground last summer and we need to make moves now to take us forward." He added: “We had the game in our grasp but when we played nice patterns we didn't finish them off, which is the story of our season. I feel like a broken record - I keep saying the same thing. We are always dominating possession and having 15 or 20 shots on goal but we are not making that count in terms of goals and firm results. When things don't come off we have to keep doing the same good things, don't try a Cryuff, don't try to chip a pass without real care. When we do that we are not a good team. When we play well we are a good team but we don't have the finish and it allows teams to stay in the game until the 94th minute so we cause our own problems on that front. "It's a hard one for me because we work hard and then on matchday people are in front of goal and it is not coming off for us. We have to keep working on that because that will define you.” Source- The Sun Join us on Telegram!
