The 2022-23 La Liga season is set to kick off next week as football fans are excited to see which team will be crowned champions of Spain and which player will win the Golden Boot.
Real Madrid won the top prize last campaign after topping the league table with 13 points ahead of Barcelona, while Karim Benzema claimed the Pichichi trophy with 27 goals and nine goals ahead of second-placed Iago Aspas.
However, the competition will be tougher for the Frenchman this year as 2021/22 Bundesliga top-scorer Robert Lewandowski made a Camp Nou move last month.
Not only the Poland International but Raphina also joined the Catalan giants this summer.
So, Xavi has probably one of the strongest front lines right now, with Lewandowski, Aubameyang, Raphinha, Dembele and Memphis.
However, ahead of the new season, we have decided to take a look at who could win the La Liga 2022/2023 Golden Boot.
Club: Atletico Madrid
Correa (tied with Memphis Depay) was La Liga’s ninth goal-scorer with 12 goals last season.
The Argentine became Atletico Madrid’s 2021/22 top-scorer with 13 goals,
In this campaign too, the 27-year-old will surely fight to put his name on the league’s top-scorer list.
2021/22 was an impressive goal tally for Raul de Tomas. The Spaniard (tied with Real Madrid’s Vinicius JR) stood in fourth place.
The Real Madrid academy man has scored 17 and assisted three to help his team finish at 14th place in La Liga.
Iago Aspas, with 18 goals, was La Liga’s second goal scorer last season. Celta’s number ten played 36 matches, provided six assists and had 41 shots on target.
The Spaniard is the club’s all-time goal scorer and his goals helped Los Celestes to finish 11th in the table.
Therefore, the 35-year-old could undoubtedly be one of the candidates for the 2022/23 Pichichi award.
