Klopp provides injury updates ahead of UCL final, reveals how he’d celebrate and speaks out on Spurs

Photo/LiverpoolFC Liverpool and Tottenham will square off for the Champions League title on June 1. The Champions League final will be an all-English first time in over a decade. Manchester United triumphed over Chelsea following a dramatic penalty shoot-out in the 2008 final. Now Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp will be gunning for the top prize in European football. Ahead of the game, Klopp has faced the press. “We are all very excited about having a chance again. We are probably the more experienced, but it doesn't really make a difference. It's about using the things that brought you to the final. So far we have controlled our emotions in a really good way,” said Klopp. The German confirmed Naby Keita will miss the final: “He is really progressing well. We will see how it work out for him for the Africa Cup of Nations.” Roberto Firminho, meanwhile, trained with the team and set to play. “These boys have given us a lot and shown us a lot for the chance to be there - for those five/six days between Barcelona (away) and Barcelona (home). It was brilliant. That's why we are here. It's a sensational situation. Being here again is great. We wanted it desperately but it looked like it slipped through our fingers in the group stage but did it in the most mature way against an Italian side winning 1-0. Since then, all our away games really impressive - Barcelona performance wise if not result wise,” said Klopp. Last year, Liverpool lost the final 3-1 to Real Madrid. On Kyiv, Klopp said:” It had a big influence on us. When we stood in the queue at Kiev airport on the way home, everyone with their heads down, there were a lot of different emotions. The plan was to come again, to be there again. Now we are there and it's incredible. Kiev was the kickstart for the development of this team, 100%. From the first day in pre-season, it was a big big step. This team can't compare with the team from last year.” “The best piece of the character of this team is the constant readiness for development. Take James Milner. Millie is 33 now. But he's still developing, really big steps, calming down here, using his unbelievable skills in better moments. He and Hendo want to make the next step. We feel this as a real European final. Nothing else. It's a proper European final, nothing else. It's not the third game we've played against Tottenham this season - it's a European final.” Liverpool’s rivals will be Tottenham Hotspur, on Mauricio Pochettino’s side, Klopp said: “ The difference between us and Tottenham in the league was consistency. Both games we played them was 2-1. The home game saw a lucky punch for us in the last minute. But emotions will be different (in the final). It's a special game. We have to bring ourselves in the right mood” Klopp reached the final after a remarkable comeback against Barcelona in the semi-finals. “Barcelona (home) was the best game I ever saw. Players missing and already 3-0 down if we'd have won 2-0 or 3-0 it would still have been a fantastic achievement. If I see we are in the right mood then I can be relaxed (on the touchline),” said Klopp. Liverpool boss also has spoken out on Dutch influence: “The Dutch influence on the Champions League this season has been incredible. Virgil and Gini have been superb, but there's John Achterberg and Pep Lijnders too. We all benefit. I don't have enough time to say all the good things about those two players.” In the end, Klopp revealed how he would celebrate the title: “ But it wasn't that long ago I was sprinting on the pitch and jumping at my goalkeeper. It was an expensive run. I won't be doing that again!” Source- Liverpool FC
