Kevon Looney has spoken out on his future

Kevon Looney's contract is set to expire after the playoffs and the 23-year-old has revealed that he would love to remain with the Warriors. "I'd love to stay here," Looney said, via NBC Sports Bay Area. "I like being on this team. I want to be there when Chase Center opens later this year." The Warriors declined Looney's fourth-year option in October 2018, which made him a free agent after last season. But, Looney inked a one-year, $1.6 million deal to stay with Golden State. The Warriors' coach Steve Kerr said that he wants Looney to be in the team's long-term plans.

"I was terrified all last year, after we denied the option, that we were going to lose him," Kerr said. "He was great last year. But it was a bad free-agent market for the players last summer. People just didn't have money. So, we got lucky in terms of being able to keep him. And he's turned into such a good player for us.

"I'm really, really hoping that we can keep him long term and that we can give him the contract he deserves, and he can make some good money and we can enjoy having him on our team for many years."

Golden State Warriors' upcoming game is scheduled on April 24 - Round 1 Game 5th with Los Angeles Clippers. The Warriors lead with 3-1.
