Kash Ali has been given a six-month ban for biting David Price last month.
The heavyweight had his boxing licence suspended and his fight purse withdrawn after being disqualified in the fifth round of the bout on March 30 at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena when he pinned Price to the ground. After the two were separated, bite marks were clearly visible on Price's torso.
Confirming the ban, a British Boxing Board of Control spokesman told BBC Sport Ali had also been fined £10,000.
The Birmingham fighter apologised for his conduct admitting he was "embarrassed" by his actions.
"I would like to apologise for my unacceptable behaviour in my fight against David Price," he said earlier this month.
