Kalidou Koulibaly's lawyer provides update on Manchester City transfer

Kalidou Koulibaly’s lawyer has stated that the player’s possible move to Manchester City could go down to the wire in this transfer window. The Citizens and Napoli appear to have hit a stalemate in a projected deal, with the Italian club’s owner Aurelio Di Laurentiis not budging from his £72million valuation, while City do not want to go above £50million for the 29-year-old defender. Di Laurentiis claims the negotiations have been slow because bad blood between the two clubs dating back to the collapse of the Jorginho deal two years ago has meant Koulibaly ’s agent Fali Ramadani has been acting as go-between. Talks seem to have dwindled, with reports that the City are sounding out Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez as a fall-back option. However, the player’s lawyer Fulvio Marrucco feels both sides may be prepared to take the matter to the brink, with the transfer window open until October 5. “Koulibaly's valuation probably fluctuates between certain numbers, but an agreement between three parties is needed,” said Marrucco, who also hinted that his client would be happy to stay in Naples. “The market itself this year is less obvious than ever, it is a market that will come alive in the last week. “All the Napoli players I know are well and love the city. Having had so many players since Maradona, is verification of the relationship with the environment and the city - I only find enthusiastic people. “Allan may perhaps be the exception. Nobody in Naples has asked for the sale, including Koulibaly.” Source- Manchester Evening News Join us on Telegram
