Kalidou Koulibaly, who has made a move to Al-Hilal has revealed his main motives to join the Saudi side, in a talk with Il Corriere dello Sport outlet.
"I won't lie. I go to Saudi Arabia for the money. I can make sure that my whole family can live a good life, from my parents to my cousins," said the 32-year-old defender, adding that the financial gains can help him invest a big amount in charities. According to the Senegalese player, a clinic is already being built in the village where his parents come from.
Moreover, the ex Chelsea man highlights the religious motives behind his move: "I am a Muslim and I am coming to a country that is perfect for me. Mecca is close and it will do me good, which is also very important."
Koulibaly's contract with the Saudi side is three-season-long, keeping the French-Senegalese player in the Middle East until 2026. Chelsea confirmed his departure from the club on June 27.
