Jurgen Klopp wins prestigious German award for record-equaling third time

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been named Coach of the Year by The Association of German Sports Journalists. Klopp finished 44 votes ahead of second-places Friedhelm Funkel, who took Fortuna Dusseldorf to a surprise 10th place finish in the Bundesliga. Speaking after receiving the award Klopp said: "I know who I owe this great award to: my team and my coaching team. Only as a collective can we achieve the successes we have achieved. I am also happy for Friedhelm Funkel and Adi Hutter (Eintracht Frankfurt's head coach, who came third), whose great work has been recognised." The German also won the award in 2011 and 2012 while he was in charge of Dortmund.
