Jurgen Klopp urged to complete two summer transfer signings

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has urged Jurgen Klopp to strengthen two positions for the next term. The Reds targeted Timo Werner for the summer transfer window. However, the deal didn't materialise, with Jurgen Klopp's side being unable to secure the move due to the financial crisis. The latter led the Premier League rivals, Chelsea, to succeed in signing RB Leipzig forward. Now, as club two players Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri are expected to leave Anfield at the end of the season, Enrique believes Liverpool need a left-back and a forward to improve the squad. The 2012 League Cup winner told Sky Sports: "You can see Chelsea have already spent so much money on two players so they will try to be up there. Manchester City already have an amazing team and United are probably going to sign big players because they want to get up there again. In the end, you have to keep spending but it's very difficult to bring some people in with this starting line-up. He knows he will come in and be a sub from the start. But that's the key for Liverpool to keep winning things in the next few years in my opinion. They need to strengthen a little bit more the squad because one of the starting line-up players is not there, you feel the difference. To win titles, you need to have an even better squad than they have right now. I believe it's the left-back position and someone in the front three that can provide cover."
