Liverpool must sign a new centre-back as soon as the January transfer window opens, says Paul Robinson as the Reds are preparing to be without Virgil van Dijk for the majority of the season. "They can't afford any more injuries in that position," Robinson told Sky Sports News. "Come January, they are going to have to recruit, they are going to have to sign somebody because they are without Van Dijk for so long. "It can't be a scenario where you get to the end of January and Liverpool are still being linked with this centre-half or that centre-half, they have to have their business ready.
