Jurgen Klopp told he has complete player and future of Liverpool in Curtis Jones

Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp already has a “complete player” in young star Curtis Jones. The Reds have looked strong again this year with Jones having been given plenty of opportunities in midfield.

Speaking on Ringer FC’s Wrighty’s House podcast, Wright said: “The way they’ve nurtured him up to this point, I’m watching him doing backheel flicks, passing simply, taking his opportunity to get in the box, shooting when he has the opportunity.

“He just looks like a complete player already. Yes, Thiago’s going to come back in, can Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shift back in now with the way he plays?

“You look at him and you think yeah, he’s the future and he’s probably going to be there for many years, he’s absolutely fantastic. Unbelievable.”

Klopp has praised Jones’ maturity this season with the youngster having already made 15 appearances this term.

The Liverpool manager said: “Some people will tell you that in Liverpool people grow up quickly – and I don’t mean the club, I mean the city. He is 19 until he enters the pitch. That is what they all have to be like. When you say someone is 19, they are allowed to make this or that mistake.

“Every player can make mistakes. That is no problem, we can sort that out as a team. But when we speak about the kids we constantly forget Curtis because we do not see him as a kid any more. But he is, so that’s good. He just has to keep working hard and keep his feet on the ground and then his future could be pretty bright.”
