Jurgen Klopp 'to do everything' to warn off Premier League rival eyeing Georginio Wijnaldum

Wolves have joined the race to sign Liverpool's Georginio Wijnaldum according to Gazzetta dello Sport. The Dutchman's contract at Anfield is coming to it's end and he will soon be free to negotiate with other clubs. Liverpool are keen to keep hold of the midfielder who is into his fifth season at Anfield. But he has recently asked for more time before deciding on his future. Inter Milan are also keen on the 30-year-old with Wolves now considering a move. Wijnaldum could be a replacement in the middle of the pitch for Joao Moutinho with the Portuguese star now 34. Klopp would like to retain Wijnaldum, who cost the Reds £23m back in 2016. Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future the midfielder has continued to be a regular for the Premier League champions. The German boss though has continued to praise Wijnaldum despite the ongoing questions having highlighted the consistency in his performances. "I cannot really say a lot about that. I would be happy if he would stay here. I am pretty happy with Gini as you can see when you look at most of the line-ups," he said last month. "He played always good, that's why he's played the amount of games he has. I cannot remember a lot of bad games to be honest."
