Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has spoken out on the upcoming Premier League title battle with Manchester City and if Merseyside club will be able to compete with back-to-back champions.
Liverpool were close to the title last season, as they finished with only 1 point below Pep Guardiola’s side. This was one of the most epic battles in the history of the Premier League and German coach hopes they can be able to be strong against favourites.
“Completely focused on Liverpool, although heard PL made change because ;last season was so close with points etc.. would be great if we can be close to them again, clear they are big favourites again.. the greed and determination they showed after scoring 100 points season before was impressive. They wouldn’t have got 98 without us and vice versa, all these games are so difficult we know we were lucky against Spurs at home, one or two other games too but then in some games we were unlucky – we were difficult to play and outplay we always created chances, were strong in lots of departments.” Klopp said during the press-conference
“Football is not like riding a bike, teamwork, how one thing leads to another is not there from the first day but OUR development & improvement in our main target.” he added.
