Jurgen Klopp reveals the state of Van Dijk injury ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Chelsea

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has revealed Virgil van Dijk is an injury doubt ahead of Liverpool's trip to Chelsea. The Dutchman sustained an injured in the win over Southampton last week and wasn’t involved in the Carabao Cup defeat against the Blues. Klopp confirmed Van Dijk has not trained this week,. “We have to wait, he didn’t train with the team so far," the German said in his pre-match press conference. “Virgil is a world class player and when you miss a world class player it’s not cool. Dejan played his first game in 10 weeks and most of that time he couldn’t train. “If Virgil is fit, he plays. If not, then obviously we have options. “We can play without Virgil, thank God. But I prefer if we can. The last game he wasn’t available, now we will see for tomorrow.”
