Jurgen Klopp reacts to Manchester United’s awful defeat ahead of London derby

Jurgen Klopp hinted that Manchester United are not enough competitive to beat Liverpool ahead of Wednesday’s derby at Old Trafford. Liverpool returned to the top of the Premier League table due to goals from Gini Wijnaldum and James Milner at Cardiff. Meanshile Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were defeated by Everton 4-0 and has now presided over a disastrous run of six defeats in eight matches. "I think I’ll be watching if there’s nothing else to do," said Klopp of his plans for the Manchester derby. "Hopefully I can avoid that, we have no influence. It doesn’t look like at the moment that Man Utd can really…what was the result today? 3-0? 4-0? So we’ll see, City will be ready and we’ll see if United are ready as well. It’s a normal game, it’s a game they have to play, we played there and had a draw. But we play on Friday and that’s the game we have influence on. On his side’s performance against Neil Warnock’s relegation battlers, Klopp added: "It was prepared to be a proper banana skin and we knew that, the boys were unbelievable. It was clear, difficult for all of us. "The weather changed and made it much more intense. We knew we had to stay patient and do the right things. It was very dry on the pitch so passing was not very easy. The boys didn’t get frustrated, we had wonderful chances in the first half but we knew if we continued we would have chances. "It was brilliant how we scored the goals. No doubt a penalty, he grabs him five or six times. I only know about me and I didn’t feel it (the pressure) we have to do it like we do it. We cannot change it. The boys try really with all they have, we only speak about the things we have to do. Their attitude is outstanding and it’s a tough season but a very positive one as well."
