Jurgen Klopp rates Ki-Jana Hoever’s Liverpool debut against Wolves

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for Ki-Jana Hoever after the defender’s first team bow against Wolves in the FA Cup. The 16-year-old entered the field for the Reds in his side’s 2-1 defeat at Molineux when Djan Lovren limped off with a hamstring strain. However joined Liverpool from Ajax’s academy and is highly thought of on Merseyside and Klopp was impressed by the youngster’s display. “I am not sure what you all would have said if immediately from the beginning if our centre-half situation was Fabinho and Ki-Jana; then probably a few very smart people would tell me that I don’t respect the competition or whatever,’ said Klopp. ‘So, we tried to do all the things [we could].
