Jurgen Klopp provides Alisson injury update ahead of Burnley match, speaks about Van Dijk, Lovren and Shaqiri

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says Alisson "will still take time" to recover from the calf injury he picked up against Norwich City earlier this month. Adrian will keep his place for Saturday’s trip to face Burnley at Turf Moor. "Alisson made steps, but it was a proper injury. It will still take time," he said. "The calf muscle is pretty important for jumping. Thank God we have a fit Adrian, I'm really happy with everything I saw. The solution we found is really good." The Reds go to Burnley on top of the table after three Premier League games. "At the moment, defensively, it is about who is in the best shape," he said. "We will only think about a couple of really small changes, but no decision is made forever. We make them for one match. We need all (of the defenders). That is the first part of the season. We had a busier schedule than other teams, but no reason to rest. It's about finding the mood again and we do the right things. Not a moment for lots of changes. Turf Moor is tough to place to go. We have been there, hot, wind and rain and it is always difficult. Tough place. They do an incredible job, that is how it is. Last time was intense, We had discussions with Sean Dyche and we are both proper competitors. But it's respectful." Klopp offers his thoughts on Alisson and Virgil van Dijk after the defensive duo were honoured with awards at the Champions League draw last night: "The boys the got the credit they deserve. Virgil is the moment, for sure, the world's best defender. I don't want to put a target on his back. A really world-class CB. An outstanding player. I love Virgil van Dijk. Capacity to improve other players is what good players have. If you have a physically strong, very, very fast, technically good centre-half next to you, whoever plays next to him will benefit. I expected him to be a world-class centre-half that’s why we paid what we paid.” On Dejan Lovren, Klopp said: “We don’t talk about transfers in the press conference, there’s nothing to say about it. Last season we had four CBs and even in CL we played with Fabinho at the back.”  Klopp concluded his press-conference with comments on Xherdan Shaqiri’s squad status: “Brilliant. Shaq is training well. In training, Shaq doesn’t have to show anything special in any way. He just has to keep his level. We need him, he knows that. Is he the happiest player? I don’t think so. Does he show that? No.”
