Jurgen Klopp praises Tottenham for their performances against Man City
Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has praised Tottenham for their performance during Champions League quarterfinals second leg against Manchester City.
Spurs lost 4-3, but qualified for semi-finals due to the 1-0 home win and will face Ajax Amsterdam on 30 April.
Klopp thinks that scoring three goals against City means Tottenham deserved to go through next round. But German isn’t sure whether the defeat will influence on Manchester City in the upcoming EPL match.
Pep Guardiola’s side will one more time face Spurs as it is considered one of the most vital matches of the season amid the title race and Top - 4 race. In case Tottenham don’t lose at Etihad Stadium, Liverpool can lead the table after equally played matches.
“Big compliments to Tottenham” Klopp said during the press-conference earlier today.
Liverpool boss was also asked about the VAR impact on that match.
“It is unbelievable. I really felt for them.” answered Klopp.
Liverpool will face Barcelona in Champions League semi-finals.
