Jurgen Klopp breaks silence on James Milner 'dressing room fight' at Liverpool

Jurgen Klopped has opened up about Ragnar Klavan's claim over dressing room fight between James Milner and labelled it a 'massive misunderstanding'. Klavan, who spent two years with the Reds between 2016 and 2018, was reflecting on his time at Anfield during a recent podcast and had an interesting tale to share from the 2016/17 season. The Estonian defender described how Klopp and Milner nearly came to blows after dropping points in a 2-2 draw away at Sunderland in January 2017 to fall further behind league leaders Chelsea.
"Klopp and James Milner almost started a physical fight. It was the period when there was Boxing Day in England and they almost started fighting but eventually Milner stepped back," he stated.   "We saw from his eyes that Klopp would have gone all the way just to prove his point. It was the most stressful time for him as well. He was under a lot of pressure."
Liverpool boss has since responded to this story of Klavan's and has insisted that it is simply wide of the mark.
"It must be a massive misunderstanding," Klopp told Sky Sports.   "I don't know exactly what Ragnar's level is but we were not close [to fighting]. I know now which situation he means, but I didn't step in his direction.   "Everybody knows how I look when I speak or shout; it looks quite aggressive without being aggressive. Maybe Ragnar was not used to that yet.   "It was nothing. James Milner would never do that and I would never do that. It's all fine."
