Jurgen Klopp admits Fulham caused his side problems at Anfield
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp saw his team run out eventual 2-0 winners against the Premier league newcomers Fulham thanks to goals either side of half-time from Mohamed Salah and Xherdan Shaqiri.
However, the German admitted that Slavia Jokanovic’s men caused his side some problems as their starting lineup took him by surprise.
“In a few moments it was tough.” he said.
“We were surprised by their line up. It was clear their approach. Mitrovic was outstanding but we played really well. I saw the Fulham goal once. Was it offside? Against Arsenal we scored a clearer goal and didn’t get it.
“We cannot change it. The reaction was brilliant from us. I’m completely happy. Apart from scoring more goals. It was really good from us. We had to work hard. We had to work hard, we won it, all good.” he added.
Mitrovic had a goal controversially ruled out just seconds before Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool at the other end of the pitch following a quickly taken free-kick.
Shaqiri added the second not long after the break thanks to fine finish from Andrew Robertson’s pinpoint cross from the left flank.
