Julian Nagelsmann reveals Angelino stance on Manchester City future

Angelino wants to make his loan move from Manchester City to RB Leipzig permanent rather than join Barcelona, according to Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann. The left-back spent the second half of last season on loan at the Bundesliga side after struggling for consistency at City. Leipzig had already indicated they could not afford the €30m purchase option included in the loan deal due to the financial implications of the coronavirus pandemic. That option is understood to have expired, with Barcelona emerging this weekend as a surprise club wanting to sign Angelino. But Nagelsmann says they are still hopeful of negotiating a deal with City, and that Angelino himself is keen on making the loan move permanent. Nagelsmann told Bild: “I am very confident that we can reach an agreement with Manchester City, now that both clubs are out of the Champions League and the focus is no longer on the tournament Angel is a very interesting player for us and he wants to stay with us too.”
