Julian Brandt speaks out on Mesut Ozil criticism

Bayer Leverkusen star Julian Brandt thinks Mesut Ozil is not the person to be blamed for Germany national team World Cup failure. Joachim Low’s team started the tournament with shocking defeat against Mexico, when Hirving Lozano scored in the first half. Then, Bundesteam managed to beat Sweden in dramatic match, when Toni Kroos scored fantastic goal on 95th minute. However, World Cup 2014 champions were not able to break the deadlock against South Korea and conceded twice during last minutes. Many fans had blamed Ozil for introvert and lazy style of play. However, Brandt doesn’t agree with that criticism. “In my opinion, @MesutOzil1088 was not the reason for our World Cup exit. Mesut probably was not at his best and made a few mistakes, but you could say that about any of us. It’s wrong to place all of the pressure on him alone.” he wrote on his twitter account.
