Journalist says Arsenal were told to "give up" on pursuing player who loves Arsenal

Arsenal have received a transfer blow in their pursuit of Brighton's Yves Bissouma. The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with the move to the Emirates Stadium for the summer transfer window. Back in January, Football.London reported that the player himself would choose Gunners over any other Premier League side in case of a possible move. However, now, according to transfer insider Dean Jones, Mikel Arteta's side were told to "give up" on the idea of signing the midfielder this summer. “Bissouma is not leaving Brighton,” Jones told The Football Terrace. “I still haven’t got an answer on why there is no chance of Bissouma leaving Brighton, but Arsenal were told… ‘just give up on this because he’s not going’, so there you go.” “I’m told that basically, he’s at Brighton for this season. Next summer, yeah possibly, maybe Bissouma leaves, but very, very unlikely now unless it’s a ridiculous offer.”
