Liverpool are reportedly closely monitoring Chelsea star Mateo Kovacic's situation for a potential transfer this summer.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, the Reds are massive admirers of the Croatian international and would love to welcome him to Anfield in the upcoming transfer window.
The 28-year-old, who has been a key man for the Blues since his move from Real Madrid in 2018, runs out of contract in the summer of 2024.
However, if the West Londoners do not the midfielder leave the club this summer they could face the risk of losing him free next year.
Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, quoted by Caughtoffside, Bailey stated:
“I think we should keep an eye on him guys, he’s on the list of a lot of clubs where, if suddenly Chelsea put him on the market, I think they’ll just want his wages and won’t ask for a huge, huge fee.
"You could see Man City or Liverpool come in for him, they appreciate him, he’s a quality footballer, he knows the Premier League. Keep an eye on Kovacic, he could be somebody who moves across the top four just like Jorginho did”.
