Jose Mourinho speaks out on Jan Vertonghen's Tottenham future ahead of potential final home game

Jose Mourinho has refused to reveal whether Sunday's home game against Leicester City will be Jan Vertonghen's last Tottenham home game. Heading into the current season with one year left on his contract, the player has not signed fresh deal and will be free to leave the club. Vertonghen joined Tottenham from Ajax in 2012, the Belgian international has been in and out of the team this term due to his mixed form. So will Sunday's home match against Leicester be his final appearance at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after eight long years? "I cannot say that," Mourinho said at his pre-match press conference. "It's not for me to say that, someone who has been here for eight months cannot talk about someone who's been here before eight years. Every day working with a player of his dimension has been great. Eight years means a lot in modern football." Source: Football.london
