Jose Mourinho speaks out on Gedson Fernandes amid Tottenham links

Tottenham are set to sign Benfica player Gedson Fernandes on an 18-month loan deal and Jose Mourinho has spoken out on the player during his press conference, ahead of FA Cup 3rd Round replay against Middlesbrough. Fernandes has made 13 appearances so far during this season and is believed to be having his medical today at Spurs. Speaking about Fernandes, Mourinho said: "I am waiting for news. But when I say I’m waiting, news can come or no. And again, I’m more worried about Middlesbrough than with the market. Of course, with the rules, even if you get a player you cannot play him in a replay. So in this moment I’m not interested in Gedson or any possible player that could come." "I cannot answer you because I don’t know if we’re getting [him]. He’s a Benfica player. I don’t think my friend Benfica coach and Benfica president, both my friends, I don’t think they will be very happy if I speak about one of their players," he added. source - Metro
