Jose Mourinho makes Sergio Reguilon Europa League decision as surprise name removed from squad

Sergio Reguilon could be on course to make his European debut for Tottenham on Thursday night in their crucial Europa League play-off match against Maccabi Haifa. Jose Mourinho did have the option to include him in his 25-man squad for the away trip to Shkendija. However, the Portuguese coach opted to name the same squad that took on Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the previous round. Europa League regulations allow clubs in the competition to add new eligible players to List A prior to a matchday in the qualifying phase and Mourinho has taken full advantage of that rule by adding the Spaniard to his list for the Maccabi Haifa fixture. As Spurs are already at their limit for 25 players on List A it has meant that the head coach has had to remove one of his team. Mourinho decided to remove one of his foreign players. According to the UEFA website, it is goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga who has not made the list for their crucial play-off game against Maccabi Haifa. Tottenham's current List A for Europa League Homegrown players: Joe Hart, Alfie Whiteman, Matt Doherty, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Harry Winks, Ryan Sessegnon, Dele Alli, Jack Clarke, Harry Kane. Foreign players: Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Serge Aurier, Ben Davies, Sergio Reguilon. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Son Heung-min, Erik Lamela, Moussa Sissoko, Giovani Lo Celso, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura, Tanguy Ndombele, Gedson Fernandes.
