Jose Mourinho to hand a new contract to Arsenal target

Manchester United defender Chris Smalling will reportedly be handed a chance to sign  a new contract as Jose Mourinho doesn’t want to lose him. Smalling, who joined the Red Devils in a £10m deal from Fulham, is into the final year of his Old Trafford deal, but Mourinho doesn’t want to give him away for free. Smalling has started United’s last five matches, including Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers. Arsenal are a long-terms admirer of the London-born ace but the transfer window will reopen in three months’ time.
