Jose Mourinho to break Tottenham transfer record on signing his former player

Jose Mourinho reportedly want Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane at Tottenham. The France international is one of the world's best centre-backs and has previously played under Mourinho in the Spanish capital. Since Mourinho's arrival his side have conceded 13 goals in the eight games and most likely he wants to reinforce the defence. Spanish Eldesmarque report that the Portuguese manager wants to bring Raphael Varane to London in January and Spurs are preparing a £68 million bid (€80m) for the World Cup-winning defender. Tanguy Ndombele is the Spurs' most expensive player right now following his £63 million move from Lyon in the summer, meaning that Varane would eclipse that if the reports are true and he joins the team.
