John Terry has dismissed claims he urged Chelsea not to sign Sergio Aguero before his move to Manchester City.
In 2009, the Blues made enquiries to sign Aguero but were put off by the £40million price tag, according to The
Athletic.
Then Chelsea and Atleti were drawn against each other in the Champions League group stages.
In the match at Stamford Bridge, Aguero was shackled in a 4-0 defeat but in the reverse fixture in Spain, Aguero came off the bench to bag a brace – which included a last-minute equaliser.
Terry, now assistant boss at Aston Villa, has taken to Instagram to deny the suggestions.
"Where do these get the stories from? If they bothered calling players agents it would solve an awful lot of nonsense!"
