John Terry has signed a new two-year deal with Aston Villa as an Assistant Head Coach despite the links of him taking a managerial job at Chelsea.
Terry has played for Chelsea from 1998 to 2017 and from the 2017 he signed for Aston Villa and after a season, Terry became an Assistant manager at Aston Villa.
Although Terry was linked with a managerial job at Chelsea, he extended his deal with Aston Villa as he wants to develop by learning the ropes with newly-promoted Villa.
Dean Smith, Aston Villa head coach, claims that he has no doubts that Terry will go to be a top manager in the coming years.
"I am really pleased that JT has extended his current deal as he is a pleasure to work with," said Smith.
"We have had a successful start to our Villa coaching careers and JT has been instrumental in joining myself, Richard O'Kelly and Neil Cutler.
"He has complemented the team that we have and I have no doubts he will go on to be a top manager in the years to come.
"Our focus now is on the coming season and to try to continue the progress we have had in the past eight months."
