Joe Gomez sends message to Liverpool fans after suffering an injury

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has taken to Instagram and send a message to the Reds supporters after suffering a serious knee injury. The defender suffered the injury during a training session while on international duty with England. Gomez underwent surgery on his left patellar tendon on Thursday and is now likely to miss the majority of this season. He joins the two other defenders on the sideline as Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold have also suffered injuries. "The road to recovery has already begun. I've been here before, I know what it takes & I'll be back better and stronger than ever," Gomez wrote on Instagram. "I'm obviously gutted, but this is part of gods plan (sic) and I believe everything happens for a reason. I'd like to thank everyone for their well wishes and messages of support.
