Jesse Lingard sends emotional West Ham message after superb loan spell

Jesse Lingard has sent a massive heartfelt message to West Ham and their fans, after spending a brilliant time at the club on loan last season. Lingard explained that he doesn't want to be on bench at Manchester United and is hoping to play more. The attacking midfielder has also opened up about his time with the Hammers, claiming that he could never celebrate after scoring at the London Stadium out of respect for his previous team. Quoted by the London Evening Standard, the 28-year-old said:
“You’re always going to get the highs and lows in football.
“Throughout the lows, you’ve got to stay confident and carry on believing in yourself. When I went to West Ham it was a time where I could really reset and pick up my game. When I play consistent football, I score goals and get assists.
“It was a brilliant loan and much needed. I came back to United full of confidence and I want to play week in week out.
“It was brilliant going back to the London Stadium. I got a really good reception when I was warming up and when I got on the pitch. It was written in the stars to score.
“With the reception I got, I couldn’t celebrate. They showed me so much love and respect when I was at the club. It was great for me to be there to help them get into Europe. Out of my respect for that, I couldn’t celebrate.”
