Jesse Lingard makes decision on Manchester United return as West Ham plot bid

Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard will ask the club to leave Old Trafford this summer, according to reports. The England international joined West Ham on loan in January and the Hammers are desperate to sign him permanently. Lingard scored nine goals in 11 matches for the club. The Hammers tried to add a right-to-buy clause in Lingard’s contract in January but the Red Devils felt the £15m clauses was too low and that the midfielder’s value would fly if he impressed in east London. According to Eurosport, the playmaker has decided to leave his boyhood club as he wants regular first-team football and he was ‘unimpressed’ by Solskjaer’s lack of faith in him. United know the interest in Lingard is significant and that West Ham are far from the only interested party.
