JERSEY TO HOST THE INAUGURAL VBET CUP

Four teams from the lower leagues will this summer bid for glory on Jersey in the inaugural VBET Cup. The mini-tournament will be staged at the Springfield Stadium, St Helier, on July 10-11 and features FC United of Manchester, Jersey Bulls, Cray Wanderers and Hashtag United. FC United of Manchester hail from the Northern Premier League, while Jersey Bulls play in Combined Counties League Division One. Cray Wanderers – London’s oldest football club and official VBET partners – are in Isthmian League Premier Division, whereas Pitsea-based Hashtag United will compete in Isthmian League North next season. The VBET Cup consists of two semi-finals on Saturday, July 10 – with the winners of Jersey v Hashtag United and FC United v Cray set to meet in the final on Sunday, July 11. The defeated semi-finalists will also go head-to-head in the battle for third place on the same day. Artur Manasaryan, VBET UK Regional Director, said: “It’s a huge honour for VBET to be sponsoring this exciting competition for the first time.  “The VBET Cup promises to be a real festival of football and is sure to capture the imagination of sports fans on Jersey. “The four teams in the VBET Cup offer a fascinating blend of history, innovation and pioneering spirit and we cannot wait to see them in action at the Springfield Stadium. “As we finally emerge from these difficult times, we’re proud to give a little bit back to grass-roots football in its time of need. “One of VBET’s core mantras is to put sports fans first by continually reaching out to local communities. “The VBET Cup is another exciting chapter in that story as we look to positively engage with, and invest in, sport at all levels.” Joe Pilato Kappa UK Sports Marketing: “ The Football Tournament in Jersey this summer is incredibly exciting not only for the sports fans but for Kappa as we are very proud to be the Official Technical Partner and the hard work done by Jersey Bulls Football Club will only bring success for future Tournaments on the island”. The first team we welcome to Springfield Stadium is FC United of Manchester, which is the largest fan-owned football club in the United Kingdom by number of members. They are currently members of the Northern Premier League Premier Division. Cray Wanderers FC is the second club competing in the VBET Cup this year and are known to be one of the oldest clubs in the world. They are currently members of the Isthmian League. And last but certainly not least, we are excited to welcome Hashtag United FC to our ground in July. They are a semi-professional football club based in Essex and they currently have a following across their social media channels of over 1 million followers. They will prove stiff semi-final competition for the undefeated Bulls team.
