Sky Sports pundit Garry Neville said, that Spurs in his lifetime, prior to Mauricio Pochettino arriving at the club, had been "spineless, gutless, soft, flaky, rubbish and pathetic".
However, ex Tottenham player Jermain Jenas believes the club are in a much better position than they have been for a number of years for one reason they do not need to sell their best players.
He said: "Look at previous years, Michael Carrick left, Dimitar Berbatov left, Luka Modric left. They've gone from being a completely selling club and they're finding a way to keep their top players now.
"Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, they're all linked with moves to the likes of Real Madrid, but they have all stayed."
