Jamie Carragher apologized to the schoolchild for spitting

England and Liverpool retired player Jamie Carragher who is currently a pundit and commentator for Sky Sport, has apologized to the girl and her family after he spat in her face and her mum branded him “disgusting” following Liverpool's defeat to Manchester United. The child’s mom said: “I said, ‘Hey Jamie, good result, 2-1’ and he sort of looked at me and I said, ‘2-1, ha ha’ and his face just changed. I could just see him lurch towards his window and spit. After the incident Carragher realized his mistake and phoned the girl and her father on Sunday night and said: “I just want to apologise and I hope you are OK.” The youngster told him: “OK, thanks for apologizing.” Jamie Carragher has previously been scathing about footballers who spit at each other – but he also said it was not the worst thing to happen.
