James Rodriguez breaks silence on Everton future and makes Southampton opener claim

James Rodriguez has said that he will not feature for Everton against Southampton this weekend. The 2021/22 Premier League action is starting this Friday, and the Toffees will play their opener against the Saints on Saturday at Goodison Park. However, it seems Everton will be without the Colombian as he continues to be linked with a move away from the club. Rodriguez played against Manchester United last weekend in his side’s final pre-season fixture, but doubts he will be involved on Saturday.
"There is a game on Saturday then, but I don't know, I don't think I'll play,” Spanish publication AS quote him as saying on Twitch.   “Anything can happen here at the end of the month, football always changes fast."

While speaking on his Everton future earlier this week, Rodriguez told teammate Yerry Mina: “We are at a club that is not the best, but you can compete with anyone.   “Football changes a lot; look at Messi; he is now at PSG.   "Physically, I’m fine; I haven’t felt like this for months. I want to have a good season whether it’s here or wherever, football takes many turns.”
