James Milner admits he did complete opposite to what Jurgen Klopp instructed before Liverpool beat Fulham

Liverpool match-winner James Milner has admitted that he did now follow head coach Jurgen Klopp’s instructions on the field. Milner was brought on to steady the ship with around 15 minutes to go, but he did the exact opposite to what Jurgen Klopp asked. The veteran midfielder sliced the ball straight over his defence before Virgil van Dijk and Alisson were involved in a mix up, gifting former Red Ryan Babel an equaliser. “It was the biggest deflection I’ve seen but he’s right it was me that put him in that position, in the mire to be fair,” Milner told Sky Sports. “The gaffer said to me just ‘come on and calm it down’ so the best thing to do was to slice it over the top and put Virg under pressure which wasn’t ideal.” He made no mistake as Liverpool won 2-1 to leapfrog Manchester City to go two points clear at the top of the Premier League. “Luckily enough we got the result and we did what we needed to do,” Milner added.
