James Forrest's first comments after signing new contract with Bhoys

James Forrest has signed a new contract with Celtic until 2023. 28-year-old midfielder has told about his expectations for the future after putting his signature under the new contract. “I love it here. I came through the Youth Academy and every year I just enjoy it more. I’m absolutely delighted to extend my stay here and I’m looking forward to winning more league titles and cups with the club." Forrest told club's official website. “The last couple of years especially have been unbelievable. When you keep winning trophies it makes you eager and wanting to strive to win more. That pushes you on for more and I want to keep winning as much as I can.” he added. Forrest had a massive 2018/19 campaign, when he scored 18 goals and provided 20 assists in 56 appearances for Bhoys. James won PFA Player of the Year, Premiership Player of the Year and Football Writers’ Player of the Year awards and helped his team win a domestic treble. “If you ask any player or member of staff, they all know how much the fans mean to the club and how big this club is. It’s great to be here, especially when you’re winning trophies and doing well, it’s a great feeling." Forrest continued. “With the players the club signs it’s always competitive. Every few days you’re playing against a good team and bettering yourself while looking forward to European games as well. I’m really happy to be staying here for a good bit longer. “I enjoy playing for Celtic, I’ve been in the first team for a good few years now and I want to keep working hard to see how many years I can stay in the first team and keep on top of my game.” the midfielder concluded.
