Jack Grealish has revealed the truth behind his relationship with Gareth Southgate as he told of how he forced his way into the England manager's plans. The Aston Villa skipper is hoping to make the Three Lions' Euro 2020 squad after another stunning campaign in the claret and blue although he is currently sidelined through a shin injury. In a recent interview, Grealish was asked about Southgate and the mercurial 25-year-old said : "He was one of the best centre-halfs Villa had. "People would say why is he not picking you for? Do you not get on? But we do. He always speaks to me in every camp. "I think the reason why I wasn't playing at the start was that he wanted me to go away - not work on my game - but there were players there who had been in a lot of camps and knew what he wanted. "So I was doing stuff he wanted me to do and I think that's why, come the November camp, I ended up playing all three of the games." "My main thing is I want to get into the England team, I just think about it all the time," Grealish added. "I know I was in the last few squads but there are so many good English players at the moment in those attacking areas. "I just think about it all the time. I'm just desperate to go to the Euros.
