Jack Grealish has claimed he is happy to play wherever he can get into the England team but would love to take up the No 10 role this summer as he eyes a dream link-up with Harry Kane.
The Aston Villa skipper was in impressive form in England’s 1-0 win over Austria in a pre-tournament friendly on Wednesday night and is pushing for a place in the starting XI when the Three Lions begin their campaign against Croatia on 13 June.
Speaking to the Guardian, after the game Grealish said:
“I love that No 10 role. I’ll play anywhere, off the left or right, but that No 10 … I don’t think there is anyone better in the world to play with in front of you than Harry Kane.
“I feel we have a good connection in training and in games. I just go out there to try to perform and try to create that one piece of magic.”
Both England stars have been constantly linked with a move to Manchester City, with Pep Guardiola wanting to strengthen his squad for the next season.
And with Grealish valued at around £100million and Kane likely to be worth more, City face the prospect of breaking their transfer record twice in one summer.
