Ivanisevic: “Novak Djokovic did not eat meat, lost weight”

Photo/Justin Setterfield/Getty Images Former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic has spoken out on World N1 Novak Djokovic’s comeback to a top level. Djokovic won the last three Grand Slams played, 2018 Wimbledon and US Open, 2019 Australian Open. He last lost a match at a Major level against Marco Cecchinato in Paris last year. In an interview with Sport Klub, the Croat said: “As the first thing I am very happy Novak is back to the top. Everyone had already written him off when his injuries happened. I followed everything, he was influenced by strange things, he lost weight... I always knew he would be back, that's the Balkan's mind, if he was not so strong mentally, first of all, he would have not won so many Majors. “He was slightly out of the race, which may seem normal, but now he dominates tennis again. For me, there are two favourites on the men's side, Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal. Everyone speaks about an open French Open but I do not see it as open. “Someone plays well, Dominic Thiem showed that he can beat Novak but they are two favourites. I would like Novak to win, he wants to break the Federer's Major titles record and he has a chance. If we remember the finals between Novak and Nadal when it started raining and when Nadal asked to interrupt the match, Novak had his chances. The day after they came back, it was sunny. Conditions change here hour after hour and they learned so much and they know everything about each other."
