"It's a case of": Finance expert speaks out on Liverpool's summer transfer plans

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire opened up on Liverpool's transfer plans during the upcoming transfer window. The Newly-crowned Premier League champions used the January transfer window, spending £7.65 million on Takumi Minamino from RB Salzburg. And Maguire has shared his thoughts on how the Reds will decide to use the upcoming one. Speaking to Liverpool Echo’s Blood Red Podcast, the finance expert said: “I think Liverpool will be looking at exit routes as well as signings, so a lot will depend [on if] the club in negotiation for some of their fringe players to go, which would free up wages, which would allow them to sign [players]. It’s a case of wait and see. So it could be that [Jurgen Klopp is] waiting for the mists to clear a little bit. And also, if he does manage to sell two or three players, then he’ll be in a position to be able to go into the transfer market at a higher level. And it could be that he’s got his eyes on two players, and he wants to make sure that he does have the budget for those rather than compromise and make an early signing at a lower fee.”
