Italian boxer dies after fight

Italian boxer Christian Daghio, 49, died last Friday after spending two days in a coma following a knockout loss in Rangist, Thailand. Daghio, a seven-time Muay Thai world champion, was 10-0 with 10 KOs as a boxer. He was facing Don Parueang (7-4, 7 KOs) for the WBC Asian silver light heavyweight title when he was kayoed in the tenth round. Footage shows Daghio being knocked out in the 12th round after receiving several huge punches to his head and face. He was immediately treated by medical staff in the ring before he was rushed to a hospital in Bangkok. Draghi's brother and manager Fabrizio has now confirmed the news of his sibling’s death. He told Italian media: “Christian died as he wanted to die, that is in the ring. He dreamed of fighting until he was 80-years-old.”
