Inter open talks to sign Chelsea defender as Frank Lampard works on replacement

Inter Milan have opened talks to sign Chelsea defender Emerson Palmieri this summer. With Inter boss Antonio Conte wanting the Italian international for next season.

  Emerson has become out of favour at Chelsea under Frank Lampard, and it looks very likely that he will be off this summer. Meanwhile, Chelsea have been working on replacements, with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell remaining the priority target, as reported by ESPN yesterday. Chelsea are also considering Everton’s French international left-back Lucas Digne as a potential alternative to Chilwell.
